THE TIME OF POETS OR PRAEPARATIONES AREOPAGITICAE. DIONYSIAN CONTEXT IN THE BYZANTINE HOLY FOOL CONCEPTOLOGY.

[ÄÈÎÍÈÑÈÉÑÊÈÉ ÑÓÁÑÒÐÀÒ Â ÂÈÇÀÍÒÈÉÑÊÎÌ ÞÐÎÄÑÒÂÅ. ÂÐÅÌß ÏÎÝÒÎÂ ÈËÈ PRAEPARATIONES AREOPAGITICAE].

Abstract. The current study is aimed on the literary milieu close to the ex-empress Eudocia (+ 460 AD) and on the personalities like the author of the Paraphrasis of the Gospel of John (pseudo-Nonnus Panopolitanus) and Cyrus Panopolitanus. Two main conclusions are deduced: 1. that the 'Corpus Areopagiticum' belongs to the same narrative milieu (that is enforcing the argumentation of Sh. Nutsubidze, E. Honigmann and M. van Esbroeck for its Peter's the Iberian authorship), 2. that the roots of the later ideology of the early Byzantine "fouls for Christ" (like Symeon Salos) are, too, in the same milieu cultivating a specific kind of a Platonizing Christian asceticism.
