Editorial noteIn January 2009 the opening conference of the European Narratology Network (ENN; www.narratology.net) took place at Hamburg University. The ENN, founded in 2008 by the Interdisciplinary Center for Narratology at Hamburg University (www.icn.uni-hamburg.de), is an association of individual narratologists and narratological institutions. Its focus is predominantly, but not exclusively, “European” in the sense of: 1) the object domain: narrative representation in literature, film, digital media, etc. across all European languages and cultures; 2) institutional affiliation: universities, research institutions and interest groups based in one of the European countries. ENN’s opening conference was devoted to the topic “Mind—Narrative—Ethics.” Seven internationally known narratologists were invited to give talks, followed by comments by invited discussants. Abstracts of the talks and photos of the conference are available on: www.narratology.net/component/content/article/5-news/18-conference-qmind-narrative-ethicsq.html Herewith a number of the talks together with the discussants’ comments are published.
